A commission by Sally Lancaster is an opportunity to own a truly bespoke original painting, created with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
With more than twenty years dedicated to fine art, Sally is recognised for her ability to capture the character, presence and individuality of the horse. Her equestrian commissions are held in private collections internationally and include a portrait of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his endurance horse following their success at the 2012 FEI World Endurance Championship.
Alongside equestrian commissions, Sally also undertakes selected commissions of people and other significant subjects, bringing the same commitment to realism, precision and artistic excellence to every painting.
Each commission is a carefully considered collaboration, resulting in a unique piece of artwork created to be treasured for generations.

The Commission Process
Every commission begins with a discussion about your requirements and a review of the reference material available.
Once the details have been finalised, the painting is carefully developed in the studio through a meticulous process of layering, refinement and attention to detail. Each work is created at a considered pace, allowing the time required to achieve the exceptional level of realism and finish for which Sally's paintings are known.
Throughout the process, progress updates can be provided if desired, allowing you to follow the development of your artwork from the initial stages through to completion.
Due to the time involved in creating paintings of this standard, only a limited number of commissions are accepted each year.
